About SL1, Inc.

SL1, Inc. is a WOSB (Woman Owned Small Business) located in Huntsville, Alabama founded in August of 2007 by its principle owners Lori and Steven Burkett.

SL1's primary expertise is in Capability Set Management as defined by the G3 LandWarNet Policy and its ASA(ALT) component, Army Software Blocking. Army Software Blocking is the U.S. Army's process for harmonizing and synchronizing all of its "fieldable" systems. The goal of Army Software Blocking (SWB) is to develop a true interoperable fielded System of Systems (SoS) through architecture development and interoperability testing. SL1's Chief Operating Officer Steven Burkett has been supporting SWB since its birth in September of 2001. Steve supported the Architecture Systems Engineering Office (ASEO) at Fort Monmouth where he helped develop SWB Policy, Procedures, Technical Architectures and Information Assurance (IA) compliance in support of Headquarters Department of the Army (HQDA) Army G6, G3, G8 and ASA(ALT).

SL1 specializes in all levels of interoperability, architecture, mission thread development, test requirements, systems engineering, program development, and architecture support to modeling and simulation with an accent on its value-added analysis.

The company’s advanced engineering services allow clients to leverage industry standards and advancements in systems engineering through applying an executable architecture and modeling methodology that is industry proven.

Executable models run as simulations, generate code, interfaces and more importantly allow for the play of ‘what if’ games.

The standards complement military standards and the modeling approach will create a level of super agility optimizing program cost, schedule and performance.
